Pt. 2: Pillars, Platforms & Posts
What's Your Best Platform? Ya Sure?

In Part 1 of last week’s “Social Media Strategy” series, I discussed the importance of Content PILLARS. These are three to five key topics that your business will consistently cover on social media. Content Pillars help you create and organize content that aligns with your brand's goals, values, and target audience.

In today’s Part 2, I want to emphasize the importance of selecting the right platform(s) for your content.
HELLO? HELLO? HELLOOOOO?!
Selecting the right social media platforms can significantly impact the success of your content. The key is to determine where your potential customers and clients spend their time.
Here’s a quick-hit guide to the platforms I currently utilize (to some degree) to help you decide where to post your content.
1. Facebook
Why: Huge audience and versatile content types (text, images, videos).
Best For: Building community and engagement through Groups and Events.
2. Instagram
Why: Great for visually appealing content.
Best For: Fashion, food, travel, and lifestyle businesses.
3. X (Twitter)
Why: Real-time updates and conversations.
Best For: News, customer service, and trending topics.
4. LinkedIn
Why: Professional networking and B2B marketing.
Best For: Industry insights, company news, and recruiting.
5. YouTube
Why: Ideal for long-form videos and tutorials.
Best For: How-to videos, product demos, and vlogs.
6. Pinterest
Why: Visual discovery and bookmarking.
Best For: Home decor, DIY, fashion, and food industries.
7. TikTok
Why: Short, engaging videos perfect for younger audiences.
Best For: Creative, viral content and trend participation.
Here’s the Deal…
Choose platforms based on your audience and content type. Focus on a few key platforms, or even just ONE, and create quality, consistent content that resonates with your audience to drive growth and success. You can do this!
OK, IT’S YOUR TURN
What are 1 or 2 Platforms you currently use (or would like to use) for your content creation to best serve your audience and build your business? Not sure which one(s) would yield the best results? Feel free to send me a note and let’s figure it out together.
