Stopped by a Cop—Didn’t Expect This

From Sunday Service to Campaign Strategy

This past Sunday, I was stopped by a cop.

In church.

A friend of mine—someone I’ve worshipped alongside for years—pulled me aside after the service. He’s a local police officer, but that morning, he wasn’t wearing his badge. He was wearing ambition.

“Hey Brent,” he said. “I’m running for County Sheriff next year… and I’d love for you to help run my campaign marketing and social media. I need to figure out how to introduce myself to the public and earn their trust and vote come next November.”

He didn’t have a fancy pitch. He had a real need: to build trust and earn a vote.

Sound familiar?

I told him I’d be honored to help. And tomorrow, I want to bring this to you—our Five Words In crew.

Because here’s the thing: whether you’re a sheriff or a shoemaker, a coach or a creator, we’re all trying to do the same thing:

✅ Earn the vote (or sale)
