THE PRICING PREDICAMENT 🤷‍♀️

“So, Brent … how much do I charge?” This is perhaps the most common question I receive from creators and entrepreneurs trying to figure out the price for their product or service.

And my answer is always, “It depends.” 🙄 

And that seemingly dismissive response from me causes people to go into a defensive shell, spending endless hours wondering and contemplating their pricing instead of actually determining and setting a price.

“The Price Is Right” has been an iconic gameshow staple for the American television viewer for 52 years. Why has it sustained such broad appeal? Was it Bob Barker’s inviting demeanor? The curvy showcase models? Exotic trips and cars? Good juice from current host and funnyman, Drew Carey? Nah.

The appeal is found in the everyday challenge of determining what the price should be for a featured product or service … and your guess is as good as mine. But, guessing leads to learning, which leads to trying, which leads to good pricing.

TRY IT, THEY MIGHT LIKE IT 🎯

Of course do your market research, assess your customer’s needs, observe your competitor’s pricing structure … that’s all good. But for the love of all things green, PRICE IT and SELL IT!

If it’s priced too high for customers to commit to, adjust. If it’s priced too low for you to turn a profit, adjust. Pricing is fluid, but ya gotta get in the flow to know.
