Bake In These Two Habits for Best Results

🔮 STOP PREDICTING, START CREATING 🦄

Consistency is the easiest and the hardest thing you’ll ever do. Anyone can do it. Most don’t. If you find yourself in the “most don’t” category, this is the newsletter for you. There are a couple things you can do to become more consistent in your business practice that won’t cost you time or money.

DON’T MAKE IT SO DRAMATIC 🎭
Hey, drama queen … chill. Consistency is attainable without any fanfare or wringing of the hands. I’m encouraging you to create just two new habits that will lead to consistency and growth. Two.
Oh, and here’s a reminder that you have already formed habits of consistency throughout your day, so you can certainly add two more. For example:
You make your bed each morning (ok, you should)
You brush your teeth after meals
You take a shower or bath
You take out the garbage and check the mail
You eat breakfast, lunch and dinner
You let your pet out to go potty
You water the flowers and feed the birds
You lock the doors and turn off the lights
You set the alarm to help you wake up and do it all over again
You don’t need to be reminded of any of these disciplines, they’ve become part of your daily routine, practiced time and time again.

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE RESULTS 🦋
I don’t go to the gym each day to look good (that ship has sailed 😭), I go to the gym each day to FEEL good. I know that cardio and lifting get me the results that help me live better and longer.
I don’t skip my workouts, just as I wouldn’t skip checking the mail or brushing my teeth. It’s become part of my daily routine.
Here are two daily habits I’d like you to consider in order to help you become more consistent with your business practices and get the results you want:
1. SCHEDULING 🗓
Whether it’s preparing a post for social media, reaching out to a past client, refreshing the copy on your website or starting a newsletter … put it in your calendar! I use Google Calendar every single day. It’s my guide and reminder. It’s the last thing I look at before I fall asleep and the first thing I check when I awake. My days aren’t mysterious or haphazard. My days are calculated and documented. (granting you permission to buy that pretty calendar you spotted at Target the other day)
Show me your scheduled calendar and I’ll determine your business success.
2. TIME BLOCKING ⏲
Time blocking is a time management method that helps you become more organized, focused, and productive. Your open-ended to-do list is going to strangle your energy and steal your productivity.
“If you don't control your schedule, it will control you.”
I break up my day into predefined blocks of time, typically ranging from 15 minutes to a few hours, and assign specific tasks (social media posts, writing, checking email, gym time) or activities to each block. I’ve mentioned before that I actually time block my entire Wednesday by working offsite and digging deep into what I want accomplished before the end of the week.
